Day 1255
Exploration to find any sort of alternate life-supporting planet / planetoid is still fruitless. I never signed up to go this far into space just to find more of it. Turning around and returning to Earth would also be useless. We’ve been gone long enough to certainly cause disappointment and hopelessness with nothing in store from such a trip. Motivation to keep going has already dwindled to a simple blind belief that we will eventually find something. If not, then perhaps (if we are not executed the second we return) we can focus our efforts on stopping the Catalyst.
There is not much sustenance to put in this log, so I will instead end on a note from the captain.
“There is no need to fear! We are sure there is a presence previously undefined out in this empty, vast nothingness! We keep receiving signs of a russet energy emerging. Perhaps this is from undefined technology? We are not entirely able to detect it, but surely it is a breakthrough in the making!”
